Some characters don’t whisper.
They arrive already laughing.
This one started with the eyes—big, rounded, and slightly off-balance. There’s something strange about oversized eyes in a drawing. They pull all the attention, like gravity wells for expression. Once those were in place, everything else had to match that energy.
The nose stretches forward. The grin gets wider. The teeth don’t quite line up the way they “should.”
Good.
That’s where personality lives.
There’s a moment in drawing where things stop being correct and start being alive. The lines get a little weird. The proportions drift. And instead of fixing it, you follow it.

The color does some quiet heavy lifting here. Soft skin tones, bright blue eyes, and that yellow hair against the green background create contrast without shouting. Watercolor behaves like a collaborator more than a tool. It suggests things you didn’t plan.
Draw long enough, and you realize something:
The goal isn’t to control every line.
It’s to recognize when the drawing is starting to speak—and let it finish the sentence.
